FAQ

Common questions

Which calculator tells me the right lot size for my account?

The position size calculator turns your account balance, the risk you are willing to take and your stop distance into a lot size for XAU/USD. Because 1 lot is 100 oz and one pip is 0.01, a stop measured in dollars per ounce converts directly. Start there before you look at any other tool.

What is the pip value calculator for on gold?

It shows what one pip of XAU/USD is worth in cash at your chosen lot size, so you can compare the risk of a 0.10-lot trade with a 1.00-lot trade. One pip is 0.01 on gold, and one standard lot is 100 oz, so the pip value scales with your size. Use it before the profit calculator.

How does the margin calculator differ from the position size calculator?

The margin calculator answers how much of your equity is set aside to hold a position, while the position size calculator answers how large a position your risk plan allows. At the applicable cap, a 0.10-lot gold position needs about $85.50 margin, so the two numbers can be very different. Keep both in view.

Can the profit calculator tell me what I will make?

It calculates the arithmetic of a trade from your entry, exit and lot size; it does not predict the market or promise an outcome. The result depends on the price you actually get filled at and on the costs your broker charges, which are not part of the tool. Treat it as a what-if, not a forecast.

What do the pivot point levels help me do?

The pivot points tool gives reference levels derived from the previous session's high, low and close, which some traders use to frame support and resistance on XAU/USD. The levels are arithmetic, not signals, and they do not tell you the direction of the next move. Use them alongside your own risk plan.
