FxPro gives you MT4, MT5, cTrader and its own app for gold, with funding from Kenya through M-Pesa. Remember the entity serving this country is licensed by the FCA, CySEC and FSCA, not by the CMA of Kenya, and leveraged gold trading can lose more than you deposit.

FAQ

Common questions

What does the reference price of about 4275.0 mean on this site?

It is a working reference for XAU/USD used in the examples and calculators, not a live quote and not a level you can trade at. Your broker's price at the moment you click will be different because it reflects its own liquidity and costs. Always read the live price on your platform before sizing a trade.

What moves the gold price during a Kenyan trading day?

Gold responds to the US dollar, real interest rate expectations, central bank demand and demand for safe assets when risk sentiment turns. The size of any move depends on the data and events of the day, so no fixed figure can be given. Watch the US session, which overlaps your evening in Kenya.

Why is gold quoted in US dollars if I am in Kenya?

XAU/USD is quoted in US dollars because the global gold market settles in dollars, so your profit and loss is calculated in USD. Converting to KSh depends on the exchange rate your bank or payment route applies at the time. That means the shilling amount you finally see can differ from the dollar figure on the platform.

Is gold trading the same as buying gold coins or jewellery?

No. Trading XAU/USD is a contract on the gold price with leverage, so you never take delivery of metal and your exposure is to the price move only. Buying coins or jewellery is a physical purchase with its own dealer margins and storage issues. The two carry very different risks and costs.

How much can I lose on a gold trade?

You can lose more than you expect if leverage is used carelessly, because a small adverse move in the gold price is multiplied by your lot size. With 1 lot equal to 100 oz, every 0.01 move is a full pip of exposure. Size positions from your risk limit, not from the maximum leverage cap.
